SCROLL COMIC
Under the cultural guidance and with permission from Aboriginal academic, Danièle Hromek (Budawang, Yuin) and Uncle Greg Simms (Gadigal, Dharug, Gundungurra Elder), I adapted the Dreamtime story of 'the Crow' into a three different outcomes.
The illustrated scroll comic, designed for reading on both phone and desktop, is a story-telling experience that explores the medium through traditional comic panels before breaking out into purely scrolling transitions. It follows the concept of flying along with the Eagle, and travelling between the divine and physical plane in conversation with Baiame, the creator god.
The concept behind the tap essay was to place the user in the position of the all-powerful sky god, Baiame. With this power, the user sees and hears all, punishing the Crow by striking him with lightening and giving mercy to his loyal flock of birds, releasing them from a fiery cave of the user's making.
